I own many Glocks and have carried them in country and will 100% say I would take it over a 1911 any day of the week, and yes I own two 1911s as well. The glock is easier to maintain and has never failed me in the most inclimate of weather, hell I went almost 9 months on never cleaning my glock 43 and put 600 rounds through at a range with zero failures. I guarantee you if that was a standard military service 9mm it would have jammed before the 2nd round chambered. Glock hands down is the best choice for the new service pistol.

It's used by many units within special operations. Rumor has it the Seals are going to replace the Sig 226, 229 with the Glock 19.
