As long as we have honest judges, these unconstitutional laws will continue to be struck down. One only has to do some simple research -- as Justice Scalia did in Heller -- into the right to keep and bear arms and the original intent of the 2nd Amendment to see that the gun grabbers are making it up as they go along.

Read the Heller dissent. The right to bear arms is only a collective right of the militia not an individual right, the logic is so stupid no sane rational person could believe that a group has a right and an individual doesn't. Fits really well when you use the same logic with the rest of the bill of rights. Well you don't have freedom of speech only the group can say what they want, well you don't have a right to a fair trial just the group, the anti gun movement is so logically and legally flawed they are an embarrassment.

MAJ (Join to see) - I came across one person so infected with a socialist mind-set, that he considered EVERY "right of the people" to be a collective right. He "proved" that by the example of the "right of assembly", which he claimed could only be exercised by the people acting collectively. However, he could not explain how any such group could be brought into existence for that collective action without the individual right of private citizens to form such a collective group.

Cpl Mark McMiller - To the mind of a socialist, once trees form a forest, the trees that formed that forest somehow cease to exist. In fact, the trees can only exist as parts of a forest. They never had any real existence before the forest at all. There was only some meaningless pre-forest state.

This is good, but I see the problem being the time it will take to actually change the law. It IS stupid to blame a weapon as if IT'S the reason someone's killed rather than the finger that pulled the trigger. So if an AR-15 is a war like instrument, what about the Beretta 95FS? It's currently used by the Army. What about the H&K SOCOM Mk23? Some Sig weapons? Are they going to ban K-bars and butter knives? Why not recognize the issue isn't weapons, but the clowns that have them. I'm not a NRA fan and I think some loopholes in weapons laws need to be fixed, but none of that will make a difference in the criminal realm where most of this happens. And I'm getting tired of the "Mental Illness" crap. If you can sit your ass down and load seven mags with a full combat load, lock and load, there is not any "mental illness" with you. You just don't care, and should be put down like a rabid dog.

The organization and planning evident in this attack (as also seen in many others -- Columbine and the "Batman" mass-murder in Aurora come to mind) certainly seem to indicate the "legal sanity" of the perps. Anyone committing such acts is certainly a lunatic, but in the eyes of the law would be considered "sane".

No, we must never relax when it comes to defending the Bill of Rights. Many people forget that the BofR is just enumerating our God given rights, not rights given to us from the government. Therefore we must always be on guard and aware of persons or entities who would chip away at them. Ever vigilant must be our battle cry when defending our Constitution and Bill of Rights.
