I was perusing through my liked videos on youtube: this one always stuck out to me. I have had friends, who were soldiers attempt suicide for different reasons. I would hope that if anyone felt so down, hopeless, no other choice they would reach out to someone they know, family, friend, colleague, like the man in the video. If you can't cope or know someone, my number is [login to see] my phone is always on and I am always glad to listen, comfort, talk. I know the reliability of the VA Suicide Hotline has been sketchy but there are people out there ready to listen like me.

Thank you SPC Britanny *Winnie* Balthaser. My friends tried and were successful. None of us ever saw any warning signs.

SGT (Join to see) had one of the soldiers I was deployed who succeeded about 3 years ago and it just gut wrenching for us all because not even his closest friends didn't know he was hurting. It really made us all a little closer, and contact eachother more often to make sure everyone is okay. Too bad it took a loss of life to see that.

SPC Britanny *Winnie* Balthaser - That's when it really hurts. A really good friend I met in PTSD group, acted like he was enjoying life again. He had come a long way. The next time I went to group, our instructor told us Dennis had committed suicide over the weekend. His only transportation was a Harley. He went home Friday night, gave away his Harley, shot his dog, set his house on fire, and shot himself. We never saw it coming. Most real suicides aren't threats. They happen and nobody had a clue.
I'm very sorry about your friend, and for you guys, having to go through that grief. Stay in touch with each other and keep supporting each other.
