FYI SSG Diane R. SEC DEF Mattis reiterated the President's memorandum policy statement of August 25, 2017.
That policy prohibit openly transgender personnel from joining the military.
DoD and DHS have until January 1, 2018 to come up with a comprehensive policy for already serving transgender service personnel.
A little while ago I posted the DoD announce text and the text of the August 25, 2017 Presidential memorandum entitled “Military Service by Transgender Individuals.”

I find myself in a somewhat unusual situation in that I have applied for a DOD civilian job at the GS 12 / 13 level, but it requires a military commitment, and that I be Deployable.
I am more than qualified, but I am not sure that the current regulation change would allow me to hold the position now. I really do want this job, and would love to be back in uniform.
