Mrs Obama said "for the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country" and that never stopped anything. Not surprised that people act like they care what she says.

Thanks for this. I'm going to use this article to counter all the claims I see of plagiarism on FB!

PO1 John Miller you are going to plagiarize this on Facebook? No you cannot, everything on Facebook is original, truthful content. You know, like everything on the internet is true?

SFC Stephen King I listened to the parts that are almost word for word from Mrs. Obama's speech. The advice given is advice that parents have been passing on to their kids for years. If it wasn't in a speech from a lying politician's family member, I would say it sounds like sincere good advice. Being that (in both cases) it came in a speech from a lying politician's family member, it sounds less like plagiarism, and more like the empty words of a campaign speech designed to make the average american think that the politician in question is not the asshole that the politician really is. If you were to give that advice to your kids, I would say it is a parent trying to give their child a sense of hope for the future.
