Did they enter Mexico legally? You realize that it is illegal to do that? Your statements is so messed up in so many ways. You need to reread the article. It clearly stated under the picture caption "Migrant families turn themselves in to U.S. Border Patrol agents to seek asylum after ILLEGALLY crossing the Rio Grande near Mission, Texas, on July 26, 2019."

But regardless, you are rationalizing their actions of "sneaking in" and their claim the asylum process treated them poorly. You have no comment to the issue from DHS, so essentially you do not have the entire story. Furthermore, it should be noted that the boy and his father illegally crossed into Mexico, traveled all the way through, apparently skipping Mexico City, and skipped their opportunity to apply for asylum through the US Embassy. Doesn't sound like much of a responsible parent, assuming he actually is the boy's father.

Pesky 3rd country laws. What about our separating children when both parents commit crime?

They can apply for asylum in whatever country they’re coming from or anywhere along the way. Yet they decide to show up at the front door and expect to be let in.

What’s going on in those countries that necessitates it anyway? The only country you ever hear about in the news that’s in the Western Hemisphere is Venezuela. And yet most of these people aren’t from there.
