I'm glad he's gone. But seriously, what has happened to teachers in the past 10 years? I'm not even that old (28) and not a single teacher I've EVER had in primary or secondary school would have spewed opinions like this. This is not education, and not even factual. TBO teachers are going the same way the news is, spewing opinions as facts to try to sway other people. Children and teens are already pretty susceptible to peer pressure and the opinions of adults, just let them grow up and make up their own minds.

Heard his rant on the news last night. Way off base on the crap he's spewing.
There used to be a document published that depicted the demographics of the Army and broke out statistics by age groups, rank, gender, and ethnicity covering education, and nearly all the areas he cited. I haven't been able to find it online, don't remember if it had some other rating than unclassified but that would surely be a good rebuttal to his horse pucky.
Generally speaking, the service should outmatch it's civilian counterparts in most age groups since you have to have at least a high school diploma or equivalent to be a member. Before I retired we were at about 40% of all SFCs through SGM having an associates degree or higher and all officers with at least an associates degree.
Also this guys a history teacher, look at who conducted the mapping missions for westward expansion,( the engineers) Soldiers. Who are the bulk of the astronauts (military pilots). The list of contributions from military folks is nearly endless and well documented as fact.
The guy is also in my mind a bully as what set him off was a young student wearing a Marine sweat shirt. So a kid shows patriotism and pride in the armed forces and is publicly humiliated in front of his class in a situation where he wasn't offered the opportunity to present a counter point.
Everyone 's entitled to an opinion but it helps if there's at least a shred of fact

Sgt Wayne Wood
Read several recent studies (you have to BUY the books... horrors!) that tend to refute almost all liberal talking points on the military.
The all-volunteer force changed the military a LOT. Post-911 even moreso.
