IMHO it was a foolish idea to start with. The military needs trained medical personnel to deploy where they are needed.
Sending feelers out, like the Army did, to find out how many retired medical folks were okay to volunteer to come back on active duty, was stupid, in my opinion. We receive a retainer, called retired pay. They don't have to ask if we are willing, they have the right to call us back if they need us.
