Spouses are an invaluable, and for married Soldiers, I would say the most valuable, lines of defense when a veteran starts experiencing issues with readjustment or PTSD. In the past, any tools given to them were ad hoc and varied across the force.
I like the step, if it is publicized enough. Should be required reading for FRG leaders.

I’m 100% disabled from an accident. I’m told by a business that runs VA care ... I do not qualify because I make too much $?!?! & I also must say ...her business makes most of the $ .. that my mom should be getting directly from VA FOR MY DADS SERVICE IN USAF WWII? She gets 250.00
& this business owner gets the rest & hires minimum wage employees to come so many hrs a week !
When VA should be issuing to my mom directly the full amount & she can choose her own caregiver, which I’ve been her primary care taker since 2015!?? These companies are operating as VA BUSINESSES! They are not! They work
With a VA source & collect majority of my moms care benefits. I also mention ... her employees are not paid travel, no background checks ... a terrible way & unsafe standards with different care givers coming into her home so many hrs a week . She knows nothing of these employees...felons!, yes! I can’t leave during her care for a break because .. I don’t know who will show up or even what time?!?! Why isn’t VA CLOSING THESE
SELF OWNERSHIP BUSINESSES, again taking the Vets benefits or decreasing them? Makes no sense . YES, I stand for VA surviving family members ... A HUGE HOLE IN THE SYSTEM. I post my journey to HELP OTHERS & MAYBE JUST GET OUR GOVERNMENTS ATTN! I know all to well the failures when should be successful in truly touching the Vets & their families.... I stand for you & me!
