I believe that Putin and Company will pause now that the US administration is back on the world stage to keep him quite hesitant. Putin also is distracted by increasing pressure from the citizens who oppose him.

The reality is nobody in the world would win. Everybody in the world would lose.

The Javelins are important fire and forget missiles because Ukraine has a minimal armor force at best. How many we sold to them is a question. They will probably need ground to air missiles. I have not read much about Russian air power being used. I believe Ukraine needs those two missiles to defend their lighter forces.

Wars are usually won by attrition caused by the enemy and the ability or inability to make up for the attrition. I firmly believe we need to give Ukraine ATGMs and ground to air missiles to defend their lighter forces. That would probably level the playing field. If not I give Russia the advantage due to their modernization and greater military capabilities.

And should the Russians want an all out war we need to continue supplying those missiles to Ukraine.
