This is truly awesome! The people of Temple, Texas have supported our military men and women long before I was born 64 years ago at the old Scott & White Hospital downtown. It's how we were raised. Temple has a long and distinguished military history. During WWII, soldiers lived in pup tents (G.P.Tiny's), covering the school playground at the old Freeman Heights on Ave. D. During Vietnam, it seemed as if half of the people in town had someone over there. It was a great place to grow up, laying outside on summer nights watching the parachute flares and listening to the big guns at Ft. Hood. Kudos to Wes Albanese, Rucks on Main, and all of the military families participating for a great cause.
