Thanks for the post.
PTSD has to be one of the most humbling experiences in our life because we live in a culture of perseverance and don't quit attitude. PTSD throws us upside down and we don't understand all the parameters of it, but we were trained to be tough, resilient, and near perfect.
Add in alcohol and drugs to someone with PTSD, and a fire will be lit furthering the inability of a person endeavor at self control.
We need better screening upon return and more therapists to get to the root problem. We also need more empathy from the military, leaders, and the Wounded Warrior Battalions. We owe this to our veterans.
