Not all those born in that timeframe weren't, just the ones that blindly follow are. Not everyone from then are blind.

SFC Kelly Fuerhoff - My son was born in'81, he's an independent thinker, only listens to what his wife says, he was brought to follow his own path of thinking, and only toe the line to his parents and wife.

Ignoring for the moment the oxymoronic phrase "opinion journalism..." a blogger isn't a journalist. Well, the two aren't exactly mutually exclusive, but there's a difference between, say, a factual news article devoid of slant or bias (journalism) and some talking head's take on it (opinion).
So what we really have here is: "someone expresses an opinion" => "someone else has an opinion that 'shreds' or 'destroys' first opinion..." and I'm supposed to care about this why?

It may be an "oxymoronic phrase" but many are making in excess of six figures writing in that genre so ignore it if you wish. No one said bloggers are journalists but unfortunately too many are also paid and they have the ability to manipulate public sentiment on a variety of topics, so again ignore and/or diminish their potential impact if you wish.

SN (Join to see) - I'm not dismissing their impact by any means. Certainly they have audiences, which isn't my point. My point is their subject matter isn't constrained to the factual. For instance, I watch Trevor Noah whenever I have the time. He's a commentator/comedian, and that's how I view him. I don't look to him for facts; I look for him to make me laugh with his spin on the facts.
