Here is the thing Chip...Republicans have the right to try and stop it just like the left are trying to gather signatures...they both have thier rights to defend their beliefs.

Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth
MSG Stan Hutchison - Agreed...that is all of our right to do that as long as we keep it peaceful...problem is these days again from all sides, think violence is the answer when all they have to do is look at the great Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. He got more done and more awareness by peaceful protests than anyone else in history...IMHO.

And yet, then when a Republican needs an abortion or their spouse (or mistress) then they realize "oh shit" on all this legislation that they helped pass to ban it. Or even Republican voters once it affects them then it's a problem.
Abortion is healthcare. PERIOD. If you don't want one, don't get one. It's really that simple. Why is it only that people with uteruses have our reproductive healthcare legislated? You don't see anything to go after those with sperm - which sperm causes every pregnancy. No one is trying to enact legislation mandating vasectomies on teenagers until they are of age and can show they are mature enough to handle children. No one is legislating Viagra. No one is doing anything that affects sperm producers. Why?
This is so ridiculous. Especially when not one single Republican who pushes for this type of legislation and bans abortion has any idea how pregnancy even works. You have Republicans who think when someone is raped, the body "shuts down" and won't allow an egg to get fertilized or implant, causing a pregnancy. Or that a pregnancy from rape is "god's will." Or the multitude of other insane things they say in these hearings.
It won't stop with abortion. They try to criminalize miscarriages. They want to ban birth control. FFS they went after IVF. They see us as incubators. That's it.

Excellent post. Thank you for sharing this Shipmate. They'll probably come up with some sort of bill to stop it. :-<
