More Than Baseball - St. Louis Cardinal Stan Musial spent 1945 baseball season in the U.S. Navy

SSG Robert Mark Odom, Musial retired from baseball in 1963, so I don’t think I ever got to see him play on television. If I did, I don’t remember it. I watched the game of the week with my father all the time.
My father was in the Navy from JUL43-JUN46, with a lot of that time in the Pacific Ocean. He played college baseball and 1/2 season of minor league baseball prior to reporting to the Navy.

So many of the sports figures served their time in the military. Not so much today.
