LTC Tom Jones Recruiters are having difficulty? What about the poor Drill Sergeants, Drill Instructors, MTIs and others charged with training the male, female and other binary types of Gen Z’ers that are recruited?

I was slotted for a recruiting command but fortunately I went to work with an Alabama Guard unit instead. My impression is it would have been a thankless job, an exponentially rat race.

Another poster posted an article about recruiting Generation Z for the army. A general was quoted as saying Generation Z does not know what they are missing out on. Later I mused maybe the old guys who have stars don’t know what the younger generation wants. It’s like putting lipstick on a pig and saying it is not a pig. I would try understand them, then tailor our marketing to their wants, interests, and needs. I ain’t a rocket scientist but that seems like the rational approach.
