Like the documentary movie "Restrepo" from 2010 (Restrepo is a 2010 American documentary film about the Afghanistan war, directed by American journalist Sebastian Junger and British/American photojournalist Tim Hetherington-later killed in Libya covering that war.), all of these documentaries do a great public good by raising the public's consciousness about the 15 year Global War on Terror, and the Afghanistan War, and the insanity of the way we have been fighting this war, and of course the bravery and courage of the Marines and Soldiers and Navy Seals that we have sent on multiple deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan.

No one will be able to capture all of the many facets that each war is. The Afghanistan War in the Korengal Valley (Mountainous terrain) is different than the war the Marines fought in the Helmand Province (Wadis and farming area and small villages spread out in the country side). Every documentary or movie only shows you a slice of what each war is like.

Thanks for sharing SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL a summary of "My Fighting Season" which is scheduled to premiere on Tuesday July 5. This sounds like it may be a great documentary.
