Sounds like a mystery, to me...
The Army on Monday released the name of a soldier found dead on Friday in Italy.
Capt. Daniel Doyle, 32, was a member of the Florida National Guard, according to Stars and Stripes.
He had been reported missing a few days before his body was found in a “seedy, industrial part” of Vicenza in northern Italy, the newspaper reported.
Doyle joined the Florida Guard in 2005, U.S. Army Africa told Stars and Stripes. Doyle was two months into a six-month assignment with U.S. Army Africa, which is based in Vicenza.
A USARAF spokesman told the newspaper that Doyle was, “as far as we know, pretty much a model soldier.”
The last positive identification of the soldier was at 9:30 p.m. on May 1 when he was seen getting into a taxi outside of the military installation, the spokesman said.
The cause of death is under investigation by the U.S. military and Italian authorities.
