One of the most dangerous places to work, well deserved reputation. Went to the flight deck to load COMSEC a few times while on the Kitty Hawk, hated it. Amazing that there aren't more accidents with everything that goes on. Speaks to the training, situational awareness and attention to detail of those who work the flight deck.

Oh Hell No! That is the most dangerous job for an O Brancher, Sure take the KIK 18 and load the birds, Piss on that. Glad you're still around. You get to admire the damage from making a Speed Bump out of that Russian Sub?

Saw many a carrier take offs and landings and was always impressed with how dangerous they were for all concerned. One fatal crash while aboard the USS Bon Homme Richard. Something one never forgets. Cheers to all Sailors.

As a Cruiser Sailor did a few Plane Guards cruising beside the Carrier. Glad I didn't work on any Carrier Flight Decks.

There is a Reason those 3m Maintenance Cards are very Detailed and downright Anal. Sounds like somebody skipped several steps.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - You got that right. Gun deck a PM and usually bad things happen at the worst time.

PO1 Brian Austin - Worst Part of the Shipboard Experience those Damn PMs. I liked shore duty where only the Mat Cranks had to do the PMs.
