Funny, they had a similar trainer for ships that could simulate every ship, in every sea type, in every port. Run by former CO's and civilian masters. One of the best ship driving things I ever did. They cancelled the program, and we see the results from that. But yeah, go pilots! (Sarcasm, and a little jealousy that aviation always gets more money..)

I suspect that that surface school will see an infusion of cash this year. Because not doing so is gonna cost a fuck-ton more than doing so, and we all know that the almighty cost-benefit equation runs things.

LTC Greg Henning Great Idea, Practice without Killing People and or Destroying Equipment. (Not that I Wouldn't Enjoy watching Some Worst Case Scenarios On It)

I'm still perplexed; with the new 2020 mandate for ADS-B Out (Which I support) now allowing you to be tracked by GPS & by fellow pilots who have ADS-B In. Is this going to eliminate TRSA's & most radar ATC's as they are currently doing with ADF, NDB, & eventually VOR/DME. Thoughts anyone on this?
