Now this doesn't both me. Too damn much of it occurred because Southern Historians have perpetuated the myth of the "Lost Cause". However, I'll point out that a couple of Army Bases are kind of inside jokes. Braxton Bragg, who is arguably the worst general in the Confederacy, gets a Base named after him in the state that fired on Ft. Sumpter. Then Hood is named after John Bell Hood, who I would argue gives Bragg a run for his money as worst General.
