The Navy announced in July that 154 scientists, engineers and researchers with the Chemical Biological Radiological Defense (CBRD) division are being transferred from Naval Support Facility Dahlgren to the Indian Head facility, across the Potomac River in Maryland.

Indian Head, former home to NAVSCOLEOD and still a Navy R&D facility, has also been home to a Marine CBRNE unit since the early 2000s. I'm not sure why it would be odd to move folks from one Navy facility to another. Hard to say.

I am guessing that they are going to make Dahlgren all AEGIS combat systems related. When I went to school there, they really didn't like all the other non-Aegis groups that were there...
