COL Charles Williams roger that, well said and profoundly conveyed. I agree with your statement:
WASHINGTON — A House proposal would severely limit defense officials’ ability to revoke battlefield valor awards, which supporters say rightly preserves the record of their wartime heroism.
As part of the annual defense authorization bill debate, House Armed Services Committee lawmakers last week approved new rules that would allow military valor awards to be rescinded only if later evidence shows the honor was given improperly, or if the service member is later convicted of a serious violent felony.
“We’re talking about hijacking an airplane, rape, murder and so on,” said amendment sponsor Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif. “Then the valor award can be revoked.”

I think that they should only be revoked if the award was improperly given (ie fraud) Many throughout history who have been given the highest awards were still SOB's before and after (sometimes they got humble afterwards) But the basic point of what the congresscritter said is still valid, these are awarded for an action on the battlefield period. It does not change who they are or were very often, but let it be said that even some of the most vile people had their moment to shine and stand out. Is it wrong for us to say that we can honor someone for the right reason? For my thoughts the only 2 reasons that an award should be revoked is fraud on issue and treason itself. let all others have the award once issued.
