Nearly 1 In 5 Defendants In Capitol Riot Cases Served In The Military

This NPR article is grinding my gears. Their math is very fuzzy as is the extreme left leaning narrative it pushes. Based on a 140 arrest sample, 1 in 5 (28) were former military. Then by extension they start to paint a whole community of veterans as extremist and a treat to the Biden/Harris administration.
Not surprising, the NPR article did not touch on the arrested 40 to 50 “agent provocateurs” from Antifa, BLM and other anti-Trump groups. In fact most news outlets failed to report Antifa and BLM involvement or gave scant 30 second coverage to down play that factoid.
There are many patriot veterans who, like me, feel this last election was full of fraud and the result of a criminal conspiracy. BUT, if our time in the military taught us anything, we know we are accountable and that the rule of law is what makes us the greatest country in history….in spite what the left will have us believe. We also know that within every formation there are a few “Dum A$$es” but the whole formation should not be punished because of them.

They figure if they belittle us long and hard enough, we may not remember our oaths of service when push comes to shove.

Respectfully, I am persuaded that the civilian population counts on each of us to honour our oaths.
I'm a Texan. I'm a hearty believer in early gun safety teaching and training. That's how I grew up. In Law Enforcement and on a ranch, you have to be able to handle a firearm.
As a First Lady, AKA the wife of a Senior clergyman, I have not had a firearm under my roof for decades, but I am in NY. The laws are different here and I was very concerned when the Capitol was breeched almost effortlessly by our own citizens who meant well, revolutionarily, but who are all folding like wet laundry when they are informed that Fox News is only able to call itself a News organization because they do give one hour of news in a 24 hour cycle. The rest is newsish, but it's just commentary designed to manipulate folks into hateful words against fellow patriots. Then suspicious of everyone who is not seeing the world through the same warped lens, rumours fly. Truth seems to be unable to differentiate from deception.
That's when I have to choose to give my fellow citizens the benefit of the doubt while seeking out the facts the best I can.
Your service matters. Your voice matter. Your thoughts are needed and the honesty in your heart when you made that oath will always matter.
