Nearly 29,000 sign petition for guns to be allowed at GOP convention

LTC Jason Bartlett Are you saying you have a CCW license valid in OH? AZ's mail order license may cover 34 states, but there is no way I would attend a modern day convention w/o a total pre-publicized, upgraded TSA screening process at work.
And, I was born in Ohio and attended school in Cleveland!

As a long time CCDW permit holder and practical pistol competitor, this is huge and long over due. The liberal media loves to portray those who believe in the 2nd Amendment and responsibly armed citizens as part of the extreme lunatic fringe. The city of Cincinnati is a liberal bastion of gun control and most likely not honor the petition.

Mixed feelings-On the one hand, it's high time we stop equivocating on the FACT that the 2nd Amendment grants citizens the right to bear arms...period. However, the sole argument against those incapable, or unwilling to accept this un-ambiguous interpretation is that the United States citizen is a responsible citizen, able and willing to use their right not only to defend themselves, but the nation. I fear massing at a political event carrying arms sends a message that will do more to advance "their" cause than "ours"...just my opinion.
