Ever hear of Neil Young? My son, Shawn, loved the music of his era and Neil Young was and is one of his all time favorites... I bring you a song of his now titled Heart of Gold , Live from Farm Aid 1985!!!
From Farm Aid:
"Neil Young is a co-founder and board member of Farm Aid, along with Willie Nelson, and John Mellencamp. The three agreed that family farmers were in dire need of assistance and decided to plan a concert for America. The show was put together in six weeks and was held on September 22, 1985 in Champaign, Illinois before a crowd of 80,000 people. It raised over $9 million for America's family farmers. Performers included Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, B.B. King, Loretta Lynn, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty and many more."
LYRICS:
"Heart Of Gold"
I want to live
I want to give
I've been a miner for a heart of gold
It's these expressions
I never give
That keep me searching for a heart of gold
And I'm getting old
Keep me searching for a heart of gold
And I'm getting old
I've been to Hollywood
I've been to Redwood
I crossed the ocean for a heart of gold
I've been in my mind
It's such a fine line
That keeps me searching for a heart of gold
And I'm getting old
Keeps me searching for a heart of gold
And I'm getting old
Keep me searching for a heart of gold
You keep me searching and I'm growing old
Keep me searching for a heart of gold
I've been a miner for a heart of gold
"Rolling Stone magazine ranked this track number 297 on its list of the 500 greatest songs of all time in 2004."
I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!!!
