Who ever provides it, Japan is in need of missile defense. And an offensive missile system of their own doesn't sound objectionable to me. As to the question of global warming, and its priority compared to Japan's missile capabilities, I'm unclear as to there being a choice between the two.

Global warming is 50 years away. Yes we have melting in the permafrost up here in Canada where I live but no one's going to die over it and I'm sure it's going to take the Bears and other animals won't all die off but it is a nuclear exchange between North Korea and South Korea us shoots back China backs of North Korea then the carbon tax scam which I consider it could be a big liberal scam will be scientifically mute because we are going to have extreme mini ice age likely how we had in the 1830s due to a global Exchange and people are going mad are those of Canada and the Kyoto Summit because they can't get lucrative carbon tax money to spend on things other than climate change.

So if Japan can not afford to provide its own missile defense due to financial constraints brought on by the Kyoto accord. Then we provide it for them. Nothing new there.

As for climate change, to me what is seen by some as man made changes to our climate. I see as part of a much more complex and not completely understood system of changing variables that effect climate. There may be some small effect that is man made. But I think we give ourselves too much credit for what is happening.

I thought so as well. I am confused about the relationship between their missile defense and the global warming issues that MAJ Stephen Conway has brought up.

SMSgt Minister Gerald A. "Doc" Thomas - They could pay for a missile defense system and not even bat an eye at the cost.

I believe 10 years ago Japan setup Patriot missile batteries but I don't know if those are as good as the thaad system that set up in Korea though it's not operational just yet. The US has a system set up in Guam and I believe in Alaska to take out those missiles or missile debt the stupid dear leader Kim crazy fatty the Third has been threatening and trying to perfect over the last decade
