An article details potential risks to people's brains due to time changes related to Daylight Savings Time (DST). Incidents of stroke and other health problems also seem to spike around the DST time changes. The author claims an energy savings of only 34-cents can be attributed to DST & possibly higher bills in the summer since longer sun-coverage during daytime hours causes people to run their A/C longer for the dog days of summer. I do not like DST & when I was traveling to Arizona (which doesn't observe DST) in November we didn't change the local time on the ground, only changed from Pacific to Mountain time zones. I wish they would get rid of DST altogether there's really no need for DST in the present day. What does everyone else think about DST are you a fan of it or do you hate it??

I don't understand why we don't just go completely to standard time and stay on it. DST literally makes no sense. It's never helped anyone. It doesn't "save" anything.
Also - before anyone says the myth about "iT wAs FoR tHe FaRmErS!" No it wasn't. Farmers HATE DST. They hate it. They actually lobbied against it in 1919.
Standard time is what makes sense. DST doesn't "add" more daylight in the summer. I don't understand people who think it does. Our concept of time on the clock is really meaningless. It's longer in the summer in the northern hemisphere no matter what because the Earth is tilting more toward the sun as it rotates around it. It's dark in the winter because the Earth tilts away from the sun.
Also - people seem to be also missing the fact this is the first thing the Senate has overwhelmingly passed in ages. The public is asking for much more important things and the Senate says "Best we can do is all year DST."
