That was an interesting article. I wish the professors and staff promoting it success.
It’s all tooo true that, with only around 1% of over 300.000.000 people in America having served our nation, there is a huge between military/veterans and those who’ve never served, especially in combat.
From m my own experiences, I’ve found that I have almost nothing in common with civilians I work with today except ones who have served, most especially in combat and combat arms.
As a Crane Operator, I work at different locations in different states a lot and it seems as if there is some sort of unmentioned sense that draws military and combat veterans into the each other’s battle space wherever they are.
That really is something civilians have no understanding of, through no fault of their own. I’ve found it as generally impossible for them to understand as it is for a combat vets to try and explain it to them. As a result, we usually end up separate from others and to be honest, we’re ok with that. Nobody can ever truly understand us the way we understand each other.
Still, I do hope the ASU professors enjoy s measure of success...
just my opinion....
