It's a tenuous link at best. However, I do not see any reason why any link need be shown. The facts already know are sufficient to show that there has been a perversion of justice. President Obama made it clear to AG Lynch that he didn't want Hillary prosecuted (it would prove embarrassing to him and might even expose that he colluded with her). It is clear that AG Lynch pressured Comey to not present her with a case that she would have to decline to prosecute. It is clear that Comey, after elucidating a prima facie case of malfeasance against Hillary, declined to present it to the AG for prosecution. Later he reopened the case (one can only surmise that his conscience got the better of him, but we'll never know for sure). If there is a deeper link, a financial one that might have influenced Comey's actions, that is another matter. However, given what is already know, there is sufficient reason to go further than just firing him.

Seems to be more of a seven degrees of Kevin Bacon type thing.
