40 million is shortsighted the amount to outfit just the national guard is around 71 million. Going to be a disaster based off what I have seen from the pilot units thus far.

This is going to be nightmare in more than one way... the material and facilities are just one. This is going to impact time available to train in a significant way, especially in IDT status. It is going to take many more personnel to administer the test and much longer to administer. Training time outside of AT is short enough as it is.
The Army has lost sight of what the APFT is useful for. The commanders have to encourage physical fitness acceptable to their command and decide what training time to dedicate to that goal. The APFT should be the bare baseline needed to be ready as a soldier. This new test will be extremely costly to implement, engulf enormous amounts of training time during IDT, and, unfortunately, result in more injuries.
