Well if this was Beverly Hills, the Hamptons, South Beach Miami, Old Town Charleston, we wouldn't have this discussion...it'd be done already. But this area is poverty stricken, a heavy minority base, who's really going to jump through the hoops? Take out the minority and replace it with poor whites and nothing would change. It was the Governor who authorized this to happen so he has an investment called his career and money to get this fixed. Point blame where you want, but it's your signature on there, and the investigation proved you were at fault.

I wouldn't DARE mention that if something like this happened in a more affluent area with folks of a lighter complexion than mine, they would get far better treatment, yet it happened in a poor minority "infested" area, so the Governor shouldn't care. I'm SURE (NO SARCASM) that had this area been a trailer park full of nice folks with blond hair, mullets and rebel flags they would've gotten treated any better than the minority "infested" area that was hit. One could say "White makes it right", but in this case that's not true. It's MONEY makes this right, and the folks affected have little to none.

I'm sorry, but I fail to see where the Congressman is wrong. According to the article, Michigan has a surplus budget. Why do they then need federal money if they have a surplus?

In regards to the actual point of the article, I'm tired of this ridiculous notion that it's the job of other people (be it individuals or other states) to bail irresponsible people out! Did the people of Flint directly cause this? No. Did they indirectly cause it with the morons they keep voting into office? Absolutely!
