1stSgt Nelson Kerr they were definitely blazing sneakers. But, I'd rather they burn than the flag.
I have raised the US an POW/MIA flag in my yard. I have noticed a few cars stopping in front of the flag briefly and bowing their heads. Then I have had the other kind coming by house.
Burn Nike, Burn---disco inferno!

1stSgt Nelson Kerr - I think she means this whole Nike flap is no big deal but burning the Flag is. It was not meant to be offensive. It is not related to Mr. K at all.

LTC (Join to see) thank you sir. There is just constant recognition to other issues than to the men and women who are and have died under the flag of the United States for the liberties enjoyed in this country. Actually, 1stSgt Nelson Kerr, the individual and the images in the article we're not the people that got my attention. This was an opportunity to acknowledge those of us still standing loyal in terrifying times on foreign soil facing death and torture. Wouldn't it be precious if Nike aired a commercial featuring our troops in the Middle East and compare/contrast burning sneakers/burning flag.
I remember how I felt when I got back to the US from Beirut, Lebanon on a deployment to recover the fallen Marines from the 1982 barracks bombing only to find that the news coverage never indicated we were in danger (kinda like a blip on the screen). The big news was Michael Jackson and Thriller. That's my deal.

I just watched Kaepernick commercial and it talked about being your best. It did not talk about Che Guevara. Any reasonable person would have thought this commercial was inspiring.

1stSgt Nelson Kerr - I make mistakes but SFC Whitfied, who blocked me, thinks I am the Library of Congress or an IBM mainframe that has to know about all matters about the Tillman Estate wishes. I get along with you, 1LT Annala, Chip Nagel and others who have different points of view. She can shake her head all she wants.. We have jobs and responsibilities. People here can't be too judgemental. You informed me and I reflected. I did the right thing and I fixed it. I put my 1SG as my personal substitute since we all fight, and sometimes die, for the right to say things that are not 'popular'.
