Well, this will be interesting. I'd love to see the new waist measurements. I always felt it was a waste of time taping Soldiers for overweight. If the did their job and weren't fall outs in PT, roadmarches or field exercises, I felt they should be good to go.

I was scoring better than 90 points per APFT event on the 21 year old scale at age 40, still taped every weight in. Never had an issue passing it. I saw that they finally got smart enough (or having a hard time retaining good soldiers enough) that they are now trying an exemption for high scorers. About time. The commanders have only been pushing that since about 1990.

CPT Lawrence Cable I always had to tape too and never failed one either. I also took care of soldiers who had a little issue at times.

I always thought some of this was ridiculous. Some guy that could give Arnold Schwarzenegger a run for a body building crown is “ over weigh”! Really. Then we had medical officers asking dentist to wire thier teeth shut to lose weight.

Thanks for sharing. I’m on vacation and heard this was coming—good looking out, Dale!
