It all starts in boot camp. From the moment you step off the bus and stand on a set of yellow footprints, until the moment your platoon is dismissed on graduation day, you are pushed to your limits and beyond.....every second of every minute of every day. Once you earn the title, you fear nothing. It's all detailed in my book, "God Bless Chesty" if you want to feel the pain, and feel the pride.

It seems a massive miss not to mentioned the Amphibious Assault Vehicle and capability to land a Battalion of Marines just about anywhere at a moments notice. The AAV, of course, can be taken far inland providing speed from ship to shore then shore to targets inland.

BTW, not every Marines is trained to be an Infantryman, every Marine is trained to be a Rifleman. There is a difference.
