It all starts in boot camp. It seems a massive miss not to mentioned the Amphibious Assault Vehicle and capability to land a Battalion of Marines just about anywhere at a moments notice. The AAV, of course, can be taken far inland providing speed from ship to shore then shore to targets inland.

BTW, not every Marines is trained to be an Infantryman, every Marine is trained to be a Rifleman. There is a difference.
