I looked up the definition of "infinities," and all it gave me was a definition of the singular word, "infinity," as "a number greater than any assignable quantity or countable number [symbol ∞]." So, I do not understand the word "infinities" when the singular word, "infinity" covers everything: "the state or quality of being infinite." I do not like nor trust what Neil deGrasse might have to say, so I did not watch/listen to his definition of infinities. . . .

Thank you. Neil seems always to step draw conclusions that he cannot justify. I think your logic on this point is sound.

CAPT Kevin M. Mc Guinness - Hi Kevin. What especially irritated me about Tyson is his hostility towards religions. He is so arrogant in thinking he's "above" religion. A preacher once said, "In general, we are scientific giants and spiritual midgets." I agree.

SPC (Join to see) It has been my observation that the fastest thinkers seem to get to the wrong conclusions first.

Infinity is less a number than it is a concept.
Infinity + 1 is obviously bigger than infinity. Which means that infinity isn't *really* infinite.

I think that "Infinity" was created as a word to describe what our tiny minds can't fathom. Infinity as a measure of time, Infinity as a measure of distance/space when broken down into the fragments that we use daily is mind boggling.
Bigger than what we've contrived to be "Infinite" wouldn't be difficult since we only view 3 dimensions. If in fact there are more, then infinity would take on a whole new meaning.
Humans are limited by our perception. We have broken the day into 24 hours, the calendar into 12 months, because of the revolution of our planet and its revolutions around our star. Perception isn't reality, but our arrogance as a species that we know everything there is to know makes us perceive only what makes the world go 'round.
