I got an online survey the other day supposedly from the NRA that asked a slew of questions. I read thru them before deciding not to answer them.
My main reason was I'm not a member of the NRA and the survey said "Only for NRA members". That raised the question of why the NRA didn't know I wasn't a member?
The second reason was that the questions were oddly slanted towards an extremely 'Hard-Right' stance compared to the NRA's normal reasoned material.
Anyway the 'survey' link wasn't to the NRA but sourcing the webpage opened up the page's programming and revealed a link to the Everytown organization. They were doing a bait and switch.
Background information: I do have various rifles, shotguns plus a couple of pistols that I favor and I do purchase others every once in a while. I buy my ammo online and have purchased weapons a few times the same way. Meaning I am on a lot of lists. I figure that's how they got my name.
I also have been into computers since the days of FORTRAN and COBOL were extensively used in systems. I cut my teeth on DOS 1.0 and GNU languages.
