Not to play the Devils Advocate here but I had an MRI done at a private medical facility done 10 years ago and the bill showed the procedure as $35,000.
It then showed insurance paid $2000 for it. I wasn’t a smart man (still have my doubts), so I asked my wife how do we come up with $33,000 to pay the balance.
She then explained that $2000 was the negotiated cost between the facility and our insurance. $ 35,000 would have been out charge had we no insurance!?!
So, the guy with the insurance only gets $2000 and the one who can’t afford it got to foot a $35,000 bill. Something doesn’t make sense.
We don’t need socialized medicine. We need the government to begin starting to begin some price gouging laws on medicine like in our gas stations.
About the AHC, ACA, OBAMACARE, or whatever: it didn’t work because we have what I believe are a bunch of children running our government who simply do not want to cooperate.
