A Wisconsin police officer will not face charges after he chased and killed an 18-year-old African-American who did not have a bicycle light. Racine County District Attorney Patricia Hanson said that she determined that Giese actions “fall under the privilege of self-defense.”

Let's see...the guy broke the law, resisted arrest by fleeing, had a weapon and was struggling to get it...hmmmmm, sounds like the cop was in the right here to protect himself,

HOWEVER, I would severely reprimand him for violating policy by not turning on his body cam. Police where I am from get fired for that.

A1C Chris Pointer - We know he broke the law for riding without a light...heck i have seen folks get pulled over for that on Live PD. We know he ran from eyewitness accounts. We know he had a gun because they found it where he dropped it and tried to get it back. Three officers rolled onto the scene as it was immediately over and saw the gun. He had tried to deploy a taser and that was unsuccessful. There is always more to the story...see the news report below. They would not have exonerated him if a gun had not been found. There were also radio calls for the chase I am sure, possibly a dash cam, etc. He would not have been restored to full duty if there wasn't some kind of evidence to say so. The family tried to get out inthe media and play this as it wasn't a lawful shooting but the following investigation says different.

NOW...if I were his boss he would be suspended for at least a month without pay or possibly fired for not following procedure for turning on dash cam
