There were a lot of Carbines in Vietnam. I had M-2s until 1963 whem the M-14 became standard. In Vietnam they were popular with Officers, especially pilots. An M-2 (could convert to full auto) was worth ten M-1s. The M-1 is available on the open market. It isn't very powerful but it is small and light
