For the love of Pete...You know, I grew up with chickens (lots of 'em), and they're a mess-I've heard ducks are a whole other category of nasty. That said, there's really nothing that reveals the soul of a being more than how they treat other creatures...If this fella likes caring for his waddling squad mates, my unadulterated, unapologetic opinion is the nobs in his community need to check their selfish, spoiled, can't-handle-it 'tude and let him be...sounds like the higher courts might agree to some extent actually.
...one more thought; Maybe instead of making a court case out of waterfowl, some of those pricks could just drop by and get to know the guy a little first.
