That guy's full of crap. Our rights are inherent regardless what the Constitution, or the Bill of Rights says. The Constitution exists to define the powers of government, not to define the rights of the people, and the bill of rights exists to remind the government how it it not allowed to trespass against the rights of the people, not as a comprehensive list of rights we possess.

That being said, the guy is right about one thing. Education is NOT a power granted the Federal government by the Constitution. Which means the Federal government has no business either involving itself in education, or in prohibiting it.

Free Health Care? Where? So my question is- Do you think that being able to carry guns in schools is more important than education?

SGT (Join to see) - SGT,
His point was education was not in the Constitution. He did not say education is not important. You are trying to twist his words.
Of couse, he wants good education for all children. Even if it is not a G-d given right. The G-d given rights written in the Constitution and ratified by the 13 Colonial governments are from a higher power than the States.
OK?
My post about free health care is an example of what people believe is a right. But, it is not. Education is like that. Government can not be G-d. We must strive to be independent of government with the G-d given freedoms.

Cpl Mark A. Morris - Question: So I directly pulled his quote from the article and I am twisting his words? He believes Gun rights are more important than education because its not in the constitution...... the constitution is a living document not an all stop set of words. I do not understand how his thought process is valid and I am a supporter of gun right along with targeted gun control.

On the free health care, you still lost me as no one has asked for free healthcare....

SGT (Join to see) - the two are not exclusive. There is nothing saying that guns in schools does anything to prohibit, or inhibit education. Anybody, and Everybody has the right to get educated, but not on the Federal government/Taxpayer's Dime, whether a State wishes to allow armed guards, teachers, or parents in the schools is irrelevant to the right of one to get an education if one so chooses.
