Why does this surprise you when our current generations believe Trump is a dictator? The fact is whether it's school aged kids, angsty teenagers, or full grown adults, most people have zero clue how our own government works, never mind the governing body of another country.

Does our current generations of Americans believe France, Canada, and Australia are ruled by dictators because they view Trump is a dictator? Or is it because Right Wing media and social media trolling has done a great job painting the leaders of those three countries as Socialist, Communist, Left-wing leaders and that Trump is the true strong leader of Democracy? I'll say part of the problem is the latter and our education system is only going to get worse as funding cuts grow.
SSgt Christopher Brose
MAJ James Woods - It's not the funding. It's the ideology of the teachers. I have been in Russian classrooms and schools that couldn't even conceive of the kind of money American schools get, and yet the education the kids received was better than ours IMO, because the quality of the teachers was better. You could double the amount of money going to schools and the education won't get any better. Not until they throw out the modern teaching concepts and go back to the ways that work, and teach subject matter that actually prepares kids to function in the real world instead of indoctrinating them. Teach them how to think, not what to think.
1LT Sandy Annala This is what happens when education becomes secondary to standardized test scores setting the funding. Kids are taught the test, not so they will retain information and be able to form opinions, but so that the schools can get its budget.

Yes because it is more than you and others give credit to this network. I feel MSNBC and CNN are also been guilty of misinformation as well and Fox calls them out on it. BBC, Al Jazeera and Fox have independent thought instead of groupthink. One example 3 weeks ago I was on active duty at Fort Sam Houston. Over the course of 24 hours 3 different networks had a teaser story before commercials starting " up next, how President Trump is raising your gas prices" ...LOL never mind California reformulated gasoline and California only Democrat/Canada and EU Carbon Taxes, OPEC and refinery maintenance and summer driving are most likely reason not the biased media narrative. I know our President is not Pope Francis but on gas prices???

Can we agree that it's not the fault of the kids? I could make an excellent case that it's the fault of the US Dept of Education and the teacher's unions. But the simple fact is that it's our fault. We the People, that's who I mean by "our fault". We didn't have to cede responsibility for parenting our children to "them". We didn't have to allow public service unions to be formed in the first place. We didn't have to ignore the growing power of teacher's unions and their proclivity to support Leftist politicians and causes. And we can't excuse ourselves by saying that this all happened clandestinely. They operated in full view of parents. All we had to do was attend PTA meetings, parent-teacher conferences, back to school nights. We could've checked our children's homework. What? You were embarrassed that you didn't understand any of it? That New Math stuff scared you away?
SSG Robert Webster
What New Math? That crap was old when I went to school and was probably introduced when you were in school.
Now on the other hand, if your talking about that fecal matter that they call Common Core, you have a point. And we let that happen also, though some of us fought against it when it crawled out of the woodwork.
There were times when I was teaching that I had to bite my tongue when a parent could not understand how lazy their child was. One was so blind to the facts and tried to blame me and started an IG investigation because I gave their child an F.
