I took a year off work once, to complete classes for a doctorate degree. I was so bored by month 5 that I found a job. I swore then I would never retire.

I am going on a tangent. There are some "financial gurus" who act like they advise investors like they are super financial ninjas. Some of them said sell stocks and go into the cash early this year because Biden will destroy the economy and thus the stock market. They said this with such conviction they were right in quite a conceited manner.
Let us examine Q1 and Q2 GDP growth rate which are 6% and 9% respectively. The S&P is up 12% for the year. Someone tell me you listened to this advice and I will laugh at you. The financial ninjas think they can time the market. It's very hard to time the market because these variables are at play"
- Corporate earnings.
- The strength of the economy.
- Expectations.
- Market risks.
- Micro economic risks of individual corporation's performances.
- Profit taking.
- Inflation.
- The performance of other investment vehicles.
- Employment.
All these factors translate to macro economic psychology of investing. If you are smart enough to pick when the market will crash, please tell me and I will make a ton of money.
I retired at 45, but that is a double edged sword.
