I hate to have to agree... but I agree. Thankfully, the author does NOT blame the guns for the violence. Mentions how many there are, but overall the article, I feel, focuses on the people pulling triggers. Guns are, inarguably, inanimate objects. They do nothing until the shooter picks one or more up and shoots. It matters whom that person is. I'm not sure that people are all of a sudden devolving are the cause of these acts. Have we just viewed similar acts in history through a different lens?

We are slowly becoming like Israel, where everybody carries a gun because of the Terrorist Suicide Bombers or gunmen.

I think that anyone who believes they can change the minds of everybody else by accessing a gun to kill someone just because they believe differently, and that in itself is an indication that this shooter is desperate for either attention or their ability make decisions are severely impaired. Guns are not sentenced after being convicted in a court of law for murder as those that commit the crime are serving time in jail, and on the other hand what if everybody carried a gun the criminals would not know who was able to defend themselves which would make them think twice.

Sgt Albert Duran , I'm so not the one to ask... I'd shoot half the criminals vs. pay taxes for their 3 squares in the pokey. I'm all for wild, wild West, "Well, Clem, we've only got one jail cell here in Dodge, I guess we better take 'im out back..."

As long as we are discussing, I dont think prison should pleasant experience at all, very spartan. I also believe that sentences should be shorter....
When I say shorter, no canteen, no gyms, no laying around work, work, work. If a person stated he/she was unable to work well they would need less rations. There would be no fat people in jail. no tattoos, no drugs, no etc... I think you get the point. I would not try and rehabilitate anyone, my rehabilitation would be simple make it so damn unpleasant they would never want to come back.
