The Susan Rice explanation of appeasement working goes off the tracks in several areas. First this is not the Soviet Union, it is quite different. For one the Soviet Union was able to change leaders every so often due to death. North Korea the same family has been in power since it's creation. In the Soviet Union as it approached collapse the cult of personality from the Joe Stalin era had long since faded away. Amazingly in North Korea the Stalinist Cult of Personality as just as strong now as it was in the 1950's. Although one could reasonably question the sanity of Stalin, some of the rest of the Soviet leaders appeared to be level headed. Each on the members of the Kim family have proven to be exceedingly reckless with direct cross border attacks on U.S. Troops and on South Korea. So the two are not the same. North Korea has to be defanged or it will strike the United States it is not a question of IF, History has proven it is only a question of WHEN.
