I think it's funny that they post these opinion pieces hoping they will change our minds. It's not!

Cpl (Join to see) - I don't blame him or anyone else for posting opinion pieces. But usually, people who post them write a few lines of their own in addition to the article, to let people know what they're thinking. PO1 Tony Holland continually posts WaPo opinion pieces and presents them as representative of his own thoughts. It comes across like he's letting them do all his political thinking for him.

Come on gary, opinions are just that. The post is nothing but a virtue signal to those who support that crap. Nobody's emotionally driven opinion will ever change facts and posting that opinion is nothing but an attempt to influence people who value facts over emotional driven fiction.

Cpl (Join to see) - It's more than that. The OP reminds me of that quintessential old-school saying, "when I want your opinion, I'll give it to you" -- only it's flipped, and he's saying to WaPo, "When I want my opinion, I'll get it from you."

SSgt Christopher Brose - Opinions are just that......exactly. You can take it or leave it. So why insult the poster of this one by saying he needs to get better opinions? By better, you mean ones that match yours? If you don't agree with it, say so.....or just ignore it. Why insult the one that posted it? He's a living, breathing, thinking veteran just like yourself, with every right to post an opinion piece that he tends to agree with. And BTW.......my opinions have been formed from my life experiences.....just as yours have. Ten years in the Marines.....another ten years as a blue collar union man......and then twenty three years in a county government job, first as a line worker, then manager, then upper level manager. My political views have evolved over all those years, and my varied experiences......they don't come from any one news source. Fact is, I pay attention to all of them, so I get the whole story from both perspectives and make my decisions after digesting all points of view. If they don't agree with yours......oh well. I don't respect you any less.....in fact one of the things I like about this site is the diversity of opinions that get posted. We all come from different life experiences.....but we are still bound by our love of country and a willingness to serve it. I'm done now......have to go read the WaPo to see what I think today.......
