All those corrupt third world countries from Mexico south can fend for themselves. Until their populations rise up and fight for democracy nothing we do matters. They have tried all forms of Government but they have one constant: Whoever they put in power becomes corrupt.

Unfortunately they have revolutions because of this instability. I mean Mexico had a revolution at last it over 15 years and even when Pancho via attack the us and we went chasing after him. Guatemala and Honduras have had military to Tater ships off and on looking Nicaragua in the samosas in the thirties we had US Marines helping the samosas and then of course the revolution in 1979 partially after the earthquake Devastation and the Somoza government investing a lot of the foreign aid didn't help any either. El Salvador had its problems but thankfully the us brokered ceasefire and now even though socialists that were fighting the government or now having political parties. It isn't perfect and the drug war isn't helping any thanks to addicts from Canada and the US and the demand for drugs pushing these drugs to their countries and causing all kinds of Chaos. If we could stop all the demand for drugs and I don't mean by legalizing it we could really help stabilize Central and South America more. It won't be perfect. Yes, there is so much corruption and nepotism.

LTC (Join to see) - Narco Terrorism is the bane of many of the countries. I've been spending a lot of time reading about and watching shows and documentaries about Pablo Escobar and Chapo Guzman. They had more power and wealth in their countries than the Roman Ceasars and answered to no one. Can you imagine if a drug dealer in the US had enough power to call in the Governor of a State, The Chief of Police in all the Major Cities of that state, plus the Commanders of every Military Base in that state and tell them " Heres a suitcase with 5 million Dollars. Let my truckloads of drugs pass through here or we will kill your entire family."

Its so funny that this is running in the NYTimes. You know the paper of record that had Durante give Stalin glowing reviews in the 30's. A pass to Castro in the 60's. The same paper who had Tom Friedman run an opinion piece about the 'enlightened' leaders of Communist China in 2009; and now they want to stop totalitarianism in Venezuela after their lovefest with Chavez and Maduro.

I guess the New York Times is two-faced like Pakistan dr. Jekyll mr. Hyde did the paper support Manning when the traitor was released from Fort Leavenworth? Social fools is what I think if the New York Times supported those earlier tyrants.
