The problem you have in Venezuela is Cuban Secret Service and Cuban military are everywhere and I expect many of these political dissent people to be in prison or dead. The ghost of Fidel Castro is all over Venezuela. I wouldn't be surprised that Russian or Iranian intelligence is helping stop the counter-revolution as well. When my cousin was the Honduran representative to the organization of American states 15 years ago, he met and shook the hands of Hugo Chavez and he was protected by Cuban Secret Service.

I would guess that to be correct because both Russia and Iran do not want to see Venezuela exporting oil again at full capacity, it would be a total Oil price collapse at a time when both countries need Oil prices to rise to circumvent sanctions.
