Optex Systems to Install Periscopes on Army M1 Tanks

The U.S. Army has awarded a contract worth up to $1.6 million to Optex Systems, Inc., to make laser-protected periscopes for the M1 Abrams tank.

Army Contracting Command placed $841,000 worth of orders for the periscopes with an option for $841,000 in additional orders, according to a recent press release.

Optex’s periscopes come with optional laser protection in both glass and plastic, to protect soldiers’ eyes during battle.
